Siliguri, September 10: A school bus carrying children home met with an accident in which the children had a narrow escape. Four people including a student and a teacher were injured in the accident while the bus driver fled from the spot.
It is being said that the incident happened when a private school bus going from Salbari to Medical More lost control and collided with the divider of the Phansidewa More flyover under Matigara Police Station. There were eight people including students in the bus at that time.
As soon as the incident was reported, officials from Matigara Police Station and Balasan Traffic Police rushed to the spot. The injured were instantly rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The bus was later recovered with the help of a crane and taken to the police station for further investigation.
