28-year-old Saurabh Roy Chowdhury, a resident of Shaktigarh, Ward No. 31, Siliguri Purnigam, died on Tuesday after being hit by an avalanche in Sikkim. It is reported that Sourav went to Sikkim along with three others for office work. Heard the news of snow falling there and went to see it. At that time they got stuck in heavy snow. While the other three returned alive with injuries, Sourav died after being buried in the snow. His cousin Runu Roy Chowdhury said that Sourav’s dead body was found after a long time after the army’s rescue operation. Siliguri Mayor Gautam Dev came to his house on Wednesday morning. He said that after the autopsy in Sikkim, Sourav’s body will be brought to Siliguri. The remaining three are undergoing treatment in Sikkim. Arrangements will be made to bring them if they are healthy. Mayor Gautam Dev also said that the government will financially support the family of the deceased.
