Sanjeev Mantri has been appointed as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ICICI Lombard.
Sanjeev Mantri, who is currently an executive director of ICICI Lombard General Insurance, will assume his new role from December 1, 2023 or from the date of IRDAI approval, whichever is later, for a period of five consecutive years.
Minister joined ICICI Lombard in 2015 in the role of Executive Director. Earlier he was with ICICI Bank.
The general insurer’s latest move to appoint the minister as the company’s MD and CEO follows the recent resignation of Bhargava Dasgupta as the company’s MD and CEO.
ICICI Lombard’s board, which met on Sunday, recorded Bhargava’s resignation and noted that he will continue in his current role as MD and CEO till the close of business on November 30, 2023.
The private general insurer will soon seek the approval of company members through postal ballot to appoint Sanjeev Mantri as MD and CEO of the company, it said in a stock exchange filing after the board meeting.
