The Darjeeling Welfare Society (DWS) has extended the registration deadline for Rozgar Mela 2.0, providing more time for youth from North Bengal and the hill districts to apply for the large-scale employment drive. The two-day job fair will take place on November 15 and 16 at Salesian College, Siliguri, offering more than 10,000 job opportunities across key sectors.
Over 60 leading companies, including Hero MotoCorp, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Group, ITC, Wipro, HDFC Bank, Reliance Retail and Apollo Hospitals, will participate, covering sectors like banking, retail, IT, healthcare, and hospitality. The mela is free for all eligible candidates, and registrations can be completed through the Darjeeling Welfare Society website.
The Rozgar Mela has triggered positive expectations in Gangtok, where job aspirants from Sikkim and nearby hill areas often travel to Siliguri for wider employment exposure. Local career counselors in Gangtok note growing interest among graduates seeking placements in corporate and hospitality sectors, viewing the Siliguri fair as a crucial bridge for hill youth seeking national-level recruitment opportunities. Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Vardhan Shringla said the extended deadline till November 7 aims to ensure maximum participation, encouraging youth to seize this “free and valuable platform” to connect with leading employers.
