Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India conducted a National Road Safety Awareness Campaign in Umden, Meghalaya, promoting safe riding habits. The two-day camp at St. Joseph H.S. School in Umden educated over 1800 students and staff on safe riding practices. HMSI’s instructors used age-appropriate learning programs to enhance awareness retention among all.
The campaign aimed to build a culture of safe riding habits in India and promote safe driving habits. Speaking on HMSI’s commitment towards building a collision-free India, Mr. Vinay Dhingra – Senior Director, HR, Admin, IT & Corporate Affairs, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “With this campaign, we aim to cultivate the right road safety habits amongst the new and upcoming riders as well as help them in understanding the importance of using the roads safely.”
The program offers a scientifically designed learning module, with skilled instructors providing theory sessions. A virtual riding simulator was used to simulate possible dangers. KikenYosoku Training (KYT) was given to enhance rider/driver sensitivity to danger and ensure safe driving behavior. Existing riders tested and honed their riding skills through slow-riding activities and narrow planks. Honda also conducted daily educational activities like road safety games and quizzes to ensure young students learn about road safety.
