On Thursday, President Ranil Wickremesinghe stated that the protracted ethnic conflict involving the Tamil minority was impeding Sri Lanka’s progress and emphasised the need for the debt-ridden nation to use its “final chance” to make a “decisive choice” and move towards prosperity.
Because of years of poor management and the rampant pandemic, Sri Lanka has been severely affected by a catastrophic economic and humanitarian crisis.
Wickremesinghe stressed the importance of looking beyond the IMF programme and concentrating on building a flourishing society for the future generation in his keynote speech, “Economic Conversation – IMF and Beyond.”
