Report on the covert visit to Pakistan by an Afghan Taliban delegation to discuss the TTP issue

According to a media source on Tuesday, a team of Afghan Taliban, made up of intelligence and security personnel, recently paid a covert visit to Islamabad to discuss how to respond to Pakistan’s worries about the TTP, which is now officially outlawed.
The General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) head Abdullah Ghazanavi led a mid-level mission that was verified by Taliban officials in Kabul, according to the Express Tribune daily, which cited sources. The team’s trip to Islamabad was to discuss the TTP and threats to Pakistan.
A high-powered team headed by the defence minister, Khawaja Asif, travelled to Kabul last month and was briefed on the measures the Afghan government had taken to deal with the TTP. This visit was a follow-up to that tour.
