Recently Ghogomali Girls’ High School located in Ward No. 36 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) actually has been marked as ‘Model Booth’ for peaceful voting. Actually it is to be noted that the Election Commission has marked several booths as ‘Model Booths’ to convey the message of maintaining peace in elections and to promote voting. Reportedly, the polling station of the school was actually decorated as model polling station while the entire school was decorated with pink balloons where voting was underway peacefully since Friday morning.
Significantly, voting took place in three parts of booth No. 19/13, 19/17, 19/18 where Central forces were also stationed. In this regard, Ward Councillor Ranjan Sil Sharma stated that the polling has been actually going on in a peaceful manner since morning in the booth. This is actually good news as today people want to give vote fairly and peacefully. In reality people should learn from this case and should expect a fair election like this.
