Rajganj, Jan 14: In a proactive initiative to address people’s grievances, the police are now visiting localities to listen to people’s problems directly. On Tuesday, police officials from Belakoba outpost met residents of Dhoppar Haat in Shikarpur gram panchayat and addressed their concerns.
The initiative has encouraged people who are scared of visiting the police station to come forward with their complaints. OC K.T. Lepcha and ASI Biswajit Mahanto of Belakoba outpost were present at the event. Residents shared their difficulties related to public services and other issues.
Many locals said they were scared of visiting the police station earlier due to concerns about legal complications. However, now that the police visit their neighbourhoods, they feel more comfortable discussing their issues directly.
