Punjab National Bank (PNB) has strengthened its rural presence with the inauguration of its new premises at B/O-Malkanihat under Jalpaiguri district, signalling a continued push towards financial inclusion and grassroots banking expansion.
The new branch premises was inaugurated by Circle Head Smt. Sarita Singh in the presence of Assistant Commandant, BSF Raninagar, Sri Naresh Ch. Roy; Pradhan of Khariza Berubari-2 Gram Panchayat, Sri Taranath Roy; Sri Pritam Ghosh, Chief Manager; along with other dignitaries and valued customers.
Addressing the gathering, bank officials highlighted the legacy of Punjab National Bank and its contribution to economic development across the country. The importance of banking services in driving rural growth and supporting small businesses and households was emphasised during the function.
As part of the expansion initiative, loan sanction letters were handed over to 10 customers, underlining the bank’s commitment to credit outreach in semi-urban and rural markets. Newly launched schemes of the bank were also explained to customers, receiving a positive response from attendees.
The event was organised by Team NJP (Siliguri), reflecting PNB’s continued focus on regional growth and customer engagement.
