Rising of pollution in state, Assam has been rising and Assam Government has decided to curb the pollution by banning use of plastics. Assam will stop production, importation of plastics for pollution Free State.
According to the sources, the initiative will be effective from October 2, 2023. Also, the ban targets stopping plastic pollution that frequently contaminates natural water bodies like rivers and lakes, threatening marine ecosystems, wildlife, and even human health.
Additionally, the responsibility for implementing this ban entities including Urban and Rural local bodies, the District Administration, Police department, and the Pollution Control Board of Assam, followed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
