Kolkata’s well-known footwear brand Titas has undergone a major transformation with the formation of Titas Footwear Pvt. Ltd., backed by the Mohta family. The family has acquired a majority stake and committed an investment of ₹50 crore over the next three years, signaling strong confidence in the brand’s long-term growth potential.
Led by Director AnirudhMohta, the company plans to channel investments into brand development, retail expansion, and distribution reach, while modernizing internal systems. “Our goal is to make Titas a preferred family footwear destination offering world-class products. We will keep innovating to meet the demands of India’s dynamic footwear market,” Mohta said.The company aims to expand product lines, introduce design-led innovations, reinvent retail experiences, refresh its brand identity, and tap into emerging sales channels. Former promoter Masud Jamil expressed optimism that the partnership would enable Titas to move beyond eastern India to a national stage.
In Siliguri, the development is seen as timely, given the city’s growing role as a key trade and retail hub connecting the Northeast with eastern India. Titas is expected to benefit from Siliguri’s rising demand for affordable, branded footwear, catering to both urban consumers and surrounding semi-urban markets.
