The Oman Government and Indian Embassy collaborated to create an iconic video for International Day of Yoga, titled ‘Soulful Yoga, Serene Oman.’ The video features yoga enthusiasts from various countries performing beautiful poses in stunning locations like Muscat, including mountains, beaches, and sand dunes.
This video is in partnership with ‘Visit Oman’, a subsidiary of Oman’s Ministry of Tourism to produce this video. The video highlights the growing popularity and acceptance of yoga as a global health discipline, marking the first time a foreign government uses yoga to promote their country. Oman, a strategic partner of India in the Gulf region, has experienced significant growth in yoga popularity.
The Indian community and the Indian Embassy played a crucial role in promoting yoga in Oman. In 2022, the Embassy organized a ‘Muscat Yog Mahotsav’ to celebrate India’s 75th independence. Over 75 yoga events took place in Oman’s major cities, attracting thousands of people. The Embassy also organized special yoga sessions for various Omani segments, such as the Men and Women National Hockey teams and children with special needs, showcasing the potential of yoga for the sports community and its healing power.
