NSE Celebrates India’s First-Ever Listing on Social Stock Exchange

National Stock Exchange of India’s Social Stock Exchange segment scripted a historic moment on 13th December 2023 with the celebration of the Country’s first-ever listing by SGBS Unnati Foundation. The event was held at NSE’s Headquarters located at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, The event, was attended by dignitaries, NPOs, regulators, and media houses, and saw the mobilization of approximately INR 1.8 Cr. The funds will enable SGBS Unnati Foundation to provide training to around 10,000 graduating youths in their final years from government colleges across various states.

Currently, 39 registered Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) are listed on the NSE SSE platform, with several initiating their fundraising process in developmental areas such as education, skilling, agriculture, and poverty alleviation of tribal farmers. Many other NPOs are planning to raise funds through the SSE platform. The launch of listings on the platform enables social enterprises, including NPOs, to access capital and raise funds for noble causes.

Shri. Ashwani Bhatia, Whole Time Member, SEBI said “This is the momentous day for our country as we witness the launch of listings on a new platform that will enable Social Enterprises including Non-profit Organisations to access capital and raise funds for a noble cause.”
