He now said that a virus called HKU5-CoV-2 was found in the body of a bat. Researchers say that this virus is also a close relative of Covid. A variant of the coronavirus is MERS. This MERS virus kills one-third of the people it infects. Researchers say that the newly discovered virus is related to this MERS or a distant relative of it. Researchers also say that this new virus may also be a mutation of Covid.
There is a fear that this virus can spread not only from person to person but also from other animals to humans. However, researchers have said that it is necessary to do more research on the matter without panicking right now. NRS Hospital doctor Saurabh Das said the same.
