The UK government has announced a full ban on disposable e-cigarettes starting in 2026, citing a surge in teenage vaping. The decision follows growing concerns from health experts and schools over addiction and misleading marketing tactics aimed at minors.
The new law will prohibit the sale and import of single-use vapes, often marketed in candy-like flavours. Manufacturers will be required to follow stricter packaging and health warning guidelines for refillable alternatives.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said, “We must protect children from harmful substances disguised as lifestyle trends.” The law is expected to inspire similar regulatory moves in countries like India, where vape products have been partially restricted but remain available illegally.
