TVS Motor Company has announced the launch of its new electric scooter, TVS Orbiter, in West Bengal, marking a fresh push into the state’s growing urban EV market. Priced at ₹1,03,200 (ex-showroom West Bengal, inclusive of the PM e-Drive scheme), the Orbiter has been positioned as a practical and feature-rich option for daily city commuting.
The TVS Orbiter comes with several segment-first features, including a claimed 158 km IDC range, cruise control, hill hold assist and a spacious 34-litre under-seat boot that can accommodate two helmets. An industry-first 14-inch front wheel has been introduced to improve ride stability and comfort. The scooter is powered by a 3.1 kWh battery and is offered with connected features such as geo-fencing, time fencing, towing alerts and crash or fall notifications.
The electric scooter also features a coloured LCD connected cluster with call display, a connected mobile app, LED lighting, USB charging and dual riding modes — Eco and Power — supported by regenerative braking. TVS said the Orbiter has been designed with a straight-line footboard, long flatform seat and upright riding posture to enhance comfort and ease of use in city traffic. Commenting on the launch, Aniruddha Haldar, Senior Vice President at TVS Motor Company, said the Orbiter reflects the company’s focus on combining everyday practicality with advanced technology to support sustainable urban mobility in the state.
