The Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana is another important step towards the government’s commitment to significantly improving farmers’ livelihoods, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated. “This will not only increase crop production in the districts that have been lagging in the agricultural sector but also boost the income of our food providers,” PM Modi stated in a post on the social networking platform X. The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Modi, has approved the “Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana” for a six-year duration that will begin in 2025–2026 and encompass 100 districts.
According to the official statement, the program’s objectives are to improve irrigation facilities, boost post-harvest storage at the panchayat and block levels, increase adoption of crop diversification and sustainable agricultural practices, increase agricultural productivity, and make long-term and short-term credit more easily accessible. The “Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana” plan, which aims to improve 100 districts, was revealed as part of the 2025–2026 budget projections.
India is implementing a scheme to strengthen its renewable energy capacity, with up to 100 districts identified based on low productivity, cropping intensity, and less credit disbursement. The plan will be carried out by combining 36 current programs from 11 departments, state programs, and regional collaborations with the commercial sector. In order to engage in renewable energy projects and support employment and socioeconomic development, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs authorized an increased delegation of authority to NTPC Ltd.
