The Nagaland Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, in partnership with The MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity Project, successfully conducted a Media Conference on Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 (IMI 5.0). The conference was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Ritu Thurr, MD NHM and Dr.Imkongtemsu, State Immunization Officer and Ms Anumegha Bhatnagar, Risk Communications Lead MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity project.
The conference highlighted the importance of vaccinating eligible children and strengthening immunity against challenges. Media representatives, health officials, and community stakeholders supported Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0’s success.
IMI 5.0 aims to improve vaccination coverage by targeting excluded populations, focusing on 0-5 year-olds. Training is conducted to address unvaccinated or partially vaccinated children. The initiative ensures life-saving vaccinations and nationwide Measles & Rubella elimination by ensuring every child under 5 completes the crucial two-dose schedule of MRCV. Dr. Ritu Thurr, MD NHM said, “Through the collaborative efforts of The MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity Project, our healthcare teams, and the support of our community, we are determined to create a lasting impact on the health and well-being of our children and foster a more resilient and healthier Nagaland.’’
