Moderate 4.7 earthquake shakes Kashmir region

The Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir was rocked by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7, according to officials. They stated that the epicenter was in the Pattan area and that the earthquake happened around 5.35 am. According to the officials, there have been no reports of earthquake-related damage thus far. According to preliminary information from the Android Earthquake Alerts System, the earthquake happened at around 5:35 am IST, with its epicentre located approximately five kilometres from Hanjiwera Bala.

Srinagar, Baramulla, Sopore, Ganderbal, Pulwama, and the neighboring districts were all hit by the earthquakes, while areas of PoK were also in the impact zone. Many individuals fled their homes in fright after being woken awake by the violent shaking. In a number of communities, windows, doors, and household objects shook, raising alarm, particularly since the tremor happened before daylight when most people were asleep.
