Qatar has officially inaugurated the Al Kharsaah Solar Power Plant, one of the largest in the world, generating over 800 MW of clean energy. Built in collaboration with French company TotalEnergies and Japanese firm Marubeni, the plant marks a major shift in the Gulf’s energy landscape.
The project aims to help Qatar reduce its carbon emissions by 26% by 2030. Experts say this transition could inspire South Asian countries to boost investments in solar technology.
India and Bangladesh, both heavily reliant on fossil fuels, can take cues from this sustainable shift.
