A group of Meitei women holds protest against Assam Rifles for removal of the force from the Imphal Valley.
Meitei leader said, “Our committee wanted to know from Madam Governor what is the status of our memorandum to the Prime Minister seeking the removal of the Assam Rifles since there is no response or development on the ground. She said she had discussed the issue with the Centre and would discuss it again. We want their removal.”
According to the reports, Meitei community has accused Assam Rifles for favoring and supporting Kuki communities in the ongoing conflict in the state, Manipur.
