Siliguri, 03 December: A meeting was held at the State Guest House in Siliguri at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) with the aim of strengthening security in medical colleges and hospitals. The meeting was chaired by Security Audit Committee Chairman Surjit Kar Purkayastha.
Officials from NBMCH as well as Raiganj Medical College and Hospital were also present in the meeting. NBMCH Principal Indrajit Saha, Superintendent Sanjay Malik, Siliguri District Hospital Superintendent Chandan Ghosh, CMOH Tulsi Pramanik, Siliguri Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar, DCP Traffic Vishwa Chand Thakur and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
After the meeting, Surjit Kar Purkayastha said that discussions were held with the officials of NBMCH and Raiganj Medical College, where the institutions shared their specific security concerns. Later, Surjit Kar arrived to inspect the NBMCH campus.
