Medtronic, the global healthcare technology leader, has inaugurated its first large-scale Global IT (GIT) Center outside the US at the Medtronic Engineering & Innovation Center (MEIC) in Hyderabad. The event was attended by Telangana’s Minister of IT, Industries, and Commerce, Shri D. Sridhar Babu, and US Consul General, Ms. Jennifer Larson.
Medtronic plans to invest $60 million over the next 3-5 years, creating 300 jobs focused on advanced technologies such as Cloud Engineering, AI/ML, and Digital Health applications. “This center underscores Telangana’s vibrant innovation ecosystem and our commitment to fostering growth in the medical technology sector,” said Minister Sridhar Babu. Rashmi Kumar, SVP and CIO of Medtronic, stated, “The launch of our Global IT Center in India strengthens our global tech capabilities and highlights our dedication to advancing healthcare technology.” Divya Prakash Joshi, VP & MEIC Site Leader, added, “This center will be pivotal in supporting innovations and enhancing our global IT capabilities.”
