Marking World Health Day with compassion and care, Medica North Bengal Clinic, part of the Manipal Hospitals Network, organized a free health check-up camp at ‘ApnaGhar’ old age home in Kawakhali. The initiative benefitted 58 senior citizens, who received comprehensive medical check-ups from a dedicated team of doctors and healthcare staff. The hospital also distributed free prescribed medicines and food packets to all residents, bringing smiles and comfort to the elderly community.
ApnaGhar’s Secretary, Mr. Ramesh Baid expressed his gratitude and said, “This kind gesture from Medica North Bengal Clinic really touched our residents’ hearts. At this juncture in life, all the old want is kindness, attention, and care—and that is what the Medica team brought to the table. Their medical skills coupled with real warmth spread smiles and a feeling of ease among our residents. We are sincerely thankful for their ongoing support and eagerly await more such humane interactions in the future.”
Talking about the initiative, Mr. Sanjay Singha Mahapatra, Hospital Director of Medica North Bengal Clinic, which is a part of Manipal Hospitals Network, said, “Healthcare is not just meant to exist within the four walls of a hospital, but should extend to the heart of society as well. On World Health Day, we wanted to do something for a community that always remains in the background—the elderly. Our team felt privileged to work for the residents of ApnaGhar, and seeing their smile and gratitude was the most rewarding result. We are dedicated to conducting more such activities that ensure preventive health and well-being in the community.” The initiative was deeply appreciated by the residents and is part of Medica’s continued commitment to preventive healthcare and community well-being in Siliguri and beyond.
