Mass food poisoning incident sends more than 80 school kids to hospital

In Karnataka’s Belagavi and Vijayanagar districts, over 80 schoolchildren were hospitalized on suspicion of food poisoning. After eating breakfast at the hostel, some 60 pupils from the government-run Morarji Desai Residential School in Hirekodi village, Belgavi district, unexpectedly became ill and were sent to the hospital. Both male and female students reported feeling uneasy and experiencing stomachaches. They were taken right away to Chikkodi town’s government hospital.

All students are safe, according to sources, and the medics have started the therapy. Prakash Hukkeri, a Congress MLC, visited the hospital and observed how schoolchildren were being treated. We’re waiting on further information about the development. The precise cause of food poisoning has not yet been determined by the health and educational authorities. In the north Karnataka region, another incidence has been reported from the Government Primary School in E. Bevinahalli village, Harapanahalli taluk, Vijayanagar district.

Authorities claim that after consuming hot meals at the school, over 25 students were ill. Some kids ended up in the hospital after throwing up while eating. Residents claimed that the catastrophe occurred because the cooks failed to spot a lizard that had dropped into the dish. Many youngsters are receiving treatment at Harapanahalli Government Hospital after being admitted with a variety of illnesses. The majority of the kids are back to normal. According to the doctors, none of the children are in danger, and none are exhibiting any severe symptoms. Investigations are still under progress.
