Jalpaiguri, August 31: A man named Satyaranjan Sarkar has been accused of attacking his wife Chinu Sarkar and daughter Tanu Sarkar with a sharp weapon. This heart-wrenching incident happened on Saturday morning in Nandanpur area near Mandalghat of Jalpaiguri Sadar Block.
According to reports, there were frequent fights between the two husbands and wives. On Saturday morning, Satyaranjan Sarkar allegedly made a sudden and brutal attack on his wife with a sharp weapon. His daughter intervened in an attempt to save her mother and was also injured.
After this, local residents took the injured women to a private hospital in Jalpaiguri. However, both of them were shifted to Jalpaiguri Superspeciality Hospital due to their critical condition.
On receiving the information, police officers from Kotwali police station and the relatives of the victims reached the hospital. Police officials have started a thorough investigation of the entire matter.
