LinkedIn’s latest research reveals that Indian professionals are embracing ‘Loud Learning’ to navigate obstacles in skill development. Despite 80% acknowledging their companies’ efforts to foster a learning culture, 94% of professionals struggle to prioritize learning due to work and family commitments.
Key barriers identified include personal responsibilities (34%), demanding work schedules (29%), and feeling overwhelmed by the plethora of learning resources (26%). ‘Loud Learning,’ which involves being vocal and intentional about learning goals, is gaining traction as a solution. About 81% of professionals believe this approach helps them allocate time for skill enhancement. Notable ‘Loud Learning’ practices include sharing learnings with teammates (40%), posting about learning journeys on LinkedIn (40%), and informing colleagues of scheduled learning times (35%). Currently, 64% of professionals are engaged in these activities.Additionally, 81% report that seeing peers participate in ‘Loud Learning’ motivates them to follow suit. A significant 64% have a ‘Learning BFF’—a friend who supports and learns with them, making the process more enjoyable and effective.

LinkedIn is bolstering this initiative with AI-powered tools and free courses available until July 8, 2024, aimed at accelerating the learning journey for professionals in India.
