KFC innovates with sign language training for employees nationwide

KFC India is revolutionizing the hospitality sector by launching a comprehensive Sign Language training program for all 17,000 employees, coinciding with International Day of Sign Languages. This pioneering initiative ensures that every employee across its 1,200+ locations, including franchise partners Devyani International Limited and Sapphire Foods, will be trained in basic Indian Sign Language (ISL).

The program, part of KFC’s Kshamata initiative, focuses on empowering the speech and hearing-impaired community and aims to double the number of these employees by 2026. Additionally, KFC has introduced India’s first interactive Sign Language kiosk at Select CityWalk, New Delhi, and Ambience Mall, Gurugram, allowing customers to learn ISL to order popular menu items.

In Siliguri, this initiative is expected to set a precedent for inclusivity, encouraging local businesses to adopt similar training programs, thus fostering an environment that welcomes all customers and enhances community engagement.
