JICA gets blamed for bad work, Assam

On Thursday, a water pipeline got burst in Guwahati, Assam due to which one death and many others injured with properties getting destroyed in the incident.

Guwahati Jal Board is looking into the matter on the burst. The locals are blaming the contractors of JICA and higher authorities.

It was implemented by the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority and was funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). It has an intake well and water treatment plant and two reservoirs at Ramsa Hill and Amiya Nagar. It has a distribution network of more more than 100 km.

Also, for now water connection is disconnected in the area.
