Schools in a few areas of Jammu and Kashmir along the India-Pakistan border will reopen on May 15, according to a statement released by the Directorate of School Education, Jammu, on Wednesday. Schools in a number of districts, including Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, and Poonch, are expected to reopen after being temporarily closed due to recent hostilities. This will be a relief to parents, students, and instructors alike.
The official notification states that the following zones will see the reopening of schools: The zones of Jammu, Gandhi Nagar, Bhalwal, Dansal, and Chowki Choura are all in the district of Jammu. Within the district of Samba: Vijaypur. Barnoti, Lakhanpur, Sallan, and Ghagwal zones are located in the Kathua district. Peeri, Kalakote, Thanamandi, Moghla, Kotranka, Khawas, Lower Hathal, and Darhal are all in the Rajouri district. Surankote and Buffliaz zones in Poonch district.
This move comes as cross-border tensions have subsided as India and Pakistan recently came to an arrangement, marking a general return to normalcy in the region. The reopening of schools, according to officials, is a crucial sign of better ground conditions and an attempt to reduce the disruptions to education that pupils in border regions that are at risk face.
