The alert indicates that these planned strikes may be an attempt by the militant organization to avenge a recent blast at a mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan, which occurred on February 6, 2026. Authorities have warned that the threat extends beyond Delhi, with major religious sites across the country potentially remaining on the radar of cross-border terror modules.
This latest security warning follows a period of heightened tension and comes in the wake of a devastating car explosion near the Red Fort in November 2025, which claimed 15 lives. In response to the current threat, the Delhi Police and paramilitary forces have significantly intensified surveillance, conducting rigorous vehicle checks and increasing patrols at transportation hubs and marketplaces.
