IndiGo Refunds Tickets Worth Rs 610 Crore

IndiGo announced that operations are steadily improving, with the airline set to run over 1,650 flights today, compared with 1,500 yesterday. It said 137 of its 138 destinations are active and on-time performance has climbed to 75 percent from 30 percent. IndiGo reiterated that it will offer full waivers on cancellations and rescheduling for bookings until December 15, and added that refunds and baggage tracing are progressing quickly.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) said it has taken swift measures to minimise disruption and protect passengers. With other airlines operating normally and IndiGo recovering, overall air travel is stabilising. To prevent fare spikes caused by the cancellations, MoCA imposed an immediate cap on airfares, leading to a correction in prices. IndiGo was also instructed to complete all refunds for cancelled or heavily delayed flights by 8 pm today, with ₹610 crore already processed.

The ministry further directed the airline to return all misplaced baggage within 48 hours, with 3,000 bags already delivered. Airports nationwide have reported smooth operations, supported by enhanced on-ground assistance. MoCA’s 24×7 control room continues to monitor flights and passenger needs, assuring travellers that safety and convenience remain top priorities as operations return to normal.
