While on a state visit to Serbia, President Droupadi Murmu talked about how India is going through a period of rapid and unprecedented development that is putting the country on track to overtake China as the third-largest economy in the world by the end of this decade. Speaking to the Indian community in Belgrade, Serbia’s capital, President Murmu added that India’s infrastructure is expanding quickly nationwide and that by 2047, the country is expected to attain developed nation status.
She said early indications show that India’s sex ratio is in favor of women and cited the results of the Civil Services Examination, in which women bagged the top four positions. The President added that despite the fact that Serbia and India are both old nations, India’s ties with Serbia have only ever been discussed in the context of the Non-Aligned Movement in the contemporary century.
