India Develops World’s Fastest Supercomputer for AI Research

India has made a significant leap in artificial intelligence (AI) research by unveiling ‘Pragati,’ the world’s fastest supercomputer for AI-driven applications. Developed by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Pragati will be used for medical research, climate modeling, and space exploration.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the development a “historic achievement” for India’s tech industry. “With Pragati, India is at the forefront of AI-driven innovation,” he stated.

The supercomputer is expected to advance AI-driven solutions for healthcare, including faster drug discoveries and real-time disease predictions. Additionally, it will assist in improving weather forecasting accuracy and developing smart city solutions.

Pragati is set to be fully operational by the end of the year, positioning India as a global leader in AI research and supercomputing.
