India and Singapore agrees to create opportunities for lifelong learning

Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister of Education, is in Singapore to deepen current connections and consider ways to expand bilateral cooperation on education and skill development. He went to Spectra Secondary School and met important ministers. Shri Pradhan and H.E. Mr. Lawrence Wong decided to collaborate in order to generate chances for lifelong learning, a workforce that is prepared for the future, and a strategic partnership that places a high priority on knowledge and skill development.

Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and H.E. Mr. Gan Kim Yong had an insightful discussion on strengthening skill development and vocational training linkages. They discussed ways in which India can leverage the expertise and knowledge of Singapore for addressing common challenges and transforming the Indian skills ecosystem. Shri Pradhan also visited Spectra Secondary School to learn more about the teaching-learning environment, pedagogy, and pedagogy.

During the meeting, Union Education Minister Shri Pradhan said, “NEP 2020 is specifically focussing on providing early exposure to vocational education in middle schools, ensuring that market relevance of training as well as building capacity of our institutions to provide technical and vocational education.”
