In India, Toyota Fortuner and Legender achieve landmark milestone of 3-lakh sales

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has achieved a major milestone in India’s SUV segment, with cumulative sales of the Fortuner and Legender models crossing the 3-lakh mark. This feat underlines Toyota’s leadership in the premium SUV space, backed by strong customer trust and the brand’s commitment to performance, durability, and reliability.

Since its 2009 launch, the Toyota Fortuner has set benchmarks with its rugged 2.8L diesel engine, delivering 204 PS and 500 Nm torque. Its bold design, high ground clearance, and 4×4 capability have made it the SUV of choice for adventure seekers. The Legender, launched in 2021, builds on this legacy with added luxury, featuring dual-tone styling, an 11-speaker JBL system, and urban-friendly features like wireless charging.

A growing demand for high-performance premium SUVs has driven sales, with Fortuner and Legender becoming status symbols among business owners and frequent highway commuters. Dealers report a steady upswing in inquiries, especially for the feature-rich Legender, thanks to its appeal in both city driving and hilly terrains surrounding the region. TKM’s Vice President Varinder Wadhwa credited customer loyalty and Toyota’s robust service ecosystem, T CARE, for the achievement. Fortuner and Legender continue to redefine road presence and reliability in India’s competitive SUV market.
