In Chennai, Dhoni and CSK Squad Kick Off IPL 2026 Preparations

In Chennai, current team captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, former India and Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and a number of other team players held their first practice session in anticipation of the 2026 Indian Premier League. Several Indian players reported for duty as the five-time winners set up camp at the team’s high-performance center. Ayush Mhatre, Mukesh Choudhary, Rahul Chahar, Urvil Patel, Ramakrishna Ghosh, and Sarfaraz Khan were among those in attendance.

As preparations picked up speed, the team posted images from the practice that showed Dhoni and Gaikwad batting in adjacent nets. Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma, two recent additions to the team, participated in the workouts. Sarfaraz could be seen intently observing Dhoni’s net session in the training video, but Gaikwad looked fluid and had confident footwork. The team unveiled their uniform for the forthcoming lucrative event earlier on Sunday.
