A risky surgery on an unborn baby’s heart was completed by doctors at AIIMS Delhi. The surgery, known as balloon dilation, was carried out on a heart that was in the womb of a grape-sized infant. Since the parents wanted to keep the kid despite the child’s cardiac issue, they decided to proceed with the surgery.
Having experienced three previous miscarriages, the 28-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital. The woman undertook the treatment at AIIMS’ Cardiothoracic Sciences Institute in the hopes that it would benefit the baby’s health. A successful treatment was carried out by the group of interventional cardiologists and foetal medicine experts.
