HDFC Life Q4 FY25 results: Profit upsurge 16% to Rs 477 crore; net premium income stands at Rs 23,766 crore

The private insurer’s net premium income grew 16 percent to Rs 23,765.56 crore in Q4 FY25 as against Rs 20,488.11 crore in the same period a year ago.
HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd on Thursday announced that it has reported a 15.76 percent year-on-year (YoY) rise in its standalone net profit for the March 2024 quarter (Q4 FY25).
During the said period, the profit stood at Rs 476.54 crore as compared to Rs 411.66 crore in the same period last year (Q4 FY24).
The private insurer’s net premium income grew 16 percent to Rs 23,765.56 crore in the fourth quarter of FY25 as against Rs 20,488.11 crore in the same period a year ago.
“We are pleased to report an 18 percent growth in individual APE for FY25, in line with our stated growth aspirations for the year. Our overall industry market share grew 70 bps to 11.1 percent and in the private sector, 30 bps to 15.7 percent,” HDFC Life Managing Director and CEO Vibha Padalkar said.
Retail protection continued to show strong momentum with APE growth of 25 per cent, HDFC Life said. “All channels recorded double-digit growth. We continue to improve customer experience through seamless digital platforms, with over 90 percent service requests now handled through self-service,” it said.
The company further said, “As we enter the 25th year of our existence, against the backdrop of a stable regulatory regime, we aspire to consistently outperform sector topline growth, deliver VNB growth in line with APE growth, and double key metrics every 4 to 4.5 years.”
The earnings were announced after market opened today. Earlier in the day, HDFC Life shares closed 0.57 percent higher at Rs 720.10.
