HDFC ERGO Implements  PMFBY in Tripura for Kharif crop

HDFC ERGO, a leading general insurance company in India, has been authorized by the Government of Tripura to implement the PMFBY for loanee and non-loanee farmers in the districts of Dhalai, Gomati, Khowai, South Tripura, Sepahijala, West Tripura, Unakoti and North Tripura for Kharif 2023.

 The scheme will be implemented for Aman Paddy and Aush Paddy, with a Sum Insured of Rs 69041. Farmers must pay Rs.10 per Kani (upto insured area of 0.40 ha) and Rs.100 per Kani (0.40-1ha) and the State Government must bear the balance premium. This farmer’s share of the premium amount shall be claimed by the Insurance Company to the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare subsequently.

Farmers are protected from agricultural production losses through the PMFBY program. To calculate the loss, the state government will perform CCEs on the registered crops, farmers will be paid claims if the yield is poor. Farmers can reach out to their respective banks, and CSCs in their district or contact the authorized HDFC ERGO agents to obtain insurance cover. The farmer may also logon into the Farmers App or opt for self-enrollment in the scheme on the website https://pmfby.gov.in/farmerLogin
