On Thursday, in Guwahati area there was huge water pipe burst which caused death of a elderly woman and several people injured, also destroyed properties due to the burst.
Now the Assam Government has constituted three member panels to probe the bursting of water pipeline.
According to the reports, the committee will be led by department of housing and urban affairs secretary Pabitra Ram Khaund. The other two members of the committee are retired secretary of the public health engineering department Ramendra Sundar Choudhury and retired chief engineer of the irrigation department Sanjai Kr Mahanta.
Further, Guwahati Jal Board has written to IIT-Guwahati to look into issue and assured every measure will be taken so that such an incident doesn’t take place in the city again.
