Manipur has been facing violence since May 3, 2023 between the communities of Kuki and Meitei due to ST status in the state, Manipur. There have been number of cases filed in the station against the people amidst the violence.
According to reports, Supreme Court has moved the Manipur violence case towards Assam judges for fair trials. The Gauhati High Court is direct to assign additional judges session to facilitate the accused production through video conferencing.
Also Supreme Court directed that the witness statement to be recorded by the local magistrate of Manipur and then test identification will take place.
