Future Generali India Life Insurance Company Ltd, a leading Indian life insurance company, is focusing on increasing insurance awareness and financial security in Sikkim. As the lead insurer of Sikkim, the company is working with representatives from various life and general insurance companies to enhance insurance awareness and penetration across the country. The initiative aligns with IRDAI’s ‘Insurance for All’ vision, aiming to make insurance accessible and inclusive across India’s diverse regions.
As of 2021, Sikkim’s population had only 14,742 policies sold, resulting in a low insurance penetration rate of 0.05%. The company has launched BTL activities in Gangtok, Pakyong, and Namchi, including street play performances, OOH installations, and explaining the benefits of life insurance to Taxi Drivers Association families. The company plans to continue promoting insurance knowledge and financial futures among the people of Sikkim through college and school activation.
