From Red Carpets to Rough Terrains: Priyanka Chopra Unveils a Fierce New Look in Rajamouli’s Big-Budget Saga

Director S.S. Rajamouli has revealed the first look of Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Mandakini in his upcoming adventure film.

The film is characterized as an original action-adventure epic that follows heroes on various perilous missions globally.

Rajamouli, following the success of “RRR,” which won an Oscar for best original song, is aiming even higher with a new film that features Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, international star Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran.

The title of the film will be announced at a fan event in Hyderabad this weekend.
Rajamouli’s two-part “Baahubali” saga has been re-edited into a single film titled “Baahubali: The Epic” this year. Actress Jonas makes her return to Indian cinema in this film, playing the enigmatic Mandakini while she is seen in a mustard saree with a pistol, poised on a cliff. Her recent projects include the Prime Video film “Heads of State” (2025) alongside Idris Elba and John Cena, and a contribution to the Oscar-nominated short film “Anuja.”

Telugu cinema superstar Mahesh Babu is collaborating with Rajamouli on his 29th film, tentatively titled SSMB 29. Following the box office success of his recent release, “Guntur Kaaram” (2024), he is now entering a broader, international project.

Prithviraj Sukumaran, a prominent figure in Malayalam cinema, has risen to pan-India stardom through films like “Salaar” and the “Lucifer” franchise. His involvement in projects highlights the ambition to fuse South Indian star power into a cohesive global offering.
