Flipkart’s eastern expansion spurs economic growth for local artisans

Flipkart offers sellers in Eastern India a chance to showcase their unique products to a wider audience, leveraging its vast customer base. Bittu Datta, a saree weaving specialist, has partnered with Flipkart Samarth to showcase the cultural heritage of Nadia, West Bengal. Datta Saree Ghar, supported by 25 trained weavers, offers handwoven cotton and silk sarees and ethnic wear items, with 300 high-performing listings on Flipkart Samarth. In 2017, Komal Prasad Paul, a medical representative, was injured in a truck accident, resulting in the amputation of his right arm. Despite this, he turned to entrepreneurship, selling products for new mothers and babies. In 2019, he registered on Flipkart Seller Hub and began selling personal care products under Flipkart Samarth. His journey with Ultimate Hygiene has seen significant growth in sales.
