Flipkart Foundation and SankalpTaru Foundation partner to restore mangrove ecosystem in Sundarbans

Flipkart Foundation and SankalpTaru Foundation have announced a major initiative to restore the mangrove ecosystem in the Sundarbans, West Bengal.This ambitious project aims to plant 35,000 mangrove saplings across 6 acres over the next 36 months, targeting North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas districts.The ‘Community-Based Mangrove Plantation and Restoration’ project is designed to enhance coastal protection, improve water quality, and boost biodiversity.

By focusing on sapling plantation, maintenance, and community engagement, the initiative is expected to benefit over 5,000 marginalized individuals who rely on climate-resilient agriculture and aquaculture for their livelihoods.Puja Trisal, Director of Flipkart Foundation, commented, “Our collaboration with SankalpTaru reflects our dedication to preserving biodiversity and creating a greener future.
