Flipkart is scaling up its supply chain operations with the launch of 11 new fulfillment centers across nine cities, ahead of The Big Billion Days (TBBD) 2024. This expansion increases Flipkart’s fulfillment centers to 83 nationwide, covering over 1.3 million square feet. The move is set to create over 1 lakh jobs across various supply chain roles, reinforcing Flipkart’s commitment to driving economic growth and operational excellence.
The company’s investment in technology-driven solutions, including automated warehouses and data-driven decision-making, aims to enhance inventory management and ensure product availability during the festive season. Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and ReCommerce, emphasized the importance of this expansion, stating, “Our expanded Supply Chain network positions us to meet growing customer demands and set new standards for delivery speed and efficiency.”
Siliguri, a critical logistics hub for Northeast India, is expected to see substantial benefits from this expansion. The enhanced supply chain capacity will enable faster and more reliable deliveries, particularly during the high-demand festive season, providing a boost to local businesses.
