Flipkart, India’s leading e-commerce marketplace, has announced a major expansion of its supply chain infrastructure across the country ahead of The Big Billion Days 2025. The company has added new fulfilment centres (FCs) and last-mile hubs in key locations including Varanasi, Patna, Manesar, Ranchi, Ghaziabad, Agra, and Agartala, strengthening its footprint across more than 21,000 pincodes.
The expansion covers 35 lakh sq. ft. and will power faster deliveries of large, non-large, and grocery items, including Myntra products. Key facilities include a 2.0 lakh sq. ft. FC in Varanasi generating 3,600 jobs, a 4.5 lakh sq. ft. Patna centre serving over 1,000 pincodes with 1,100 jobs, and a large-scale Regional Distribution Center in Manesar spread across 140 acres creating 10,000 jobs. In the Northeast, Flipkart has also launched its first grocery fulfilment centre with a daily dispatch capacity of 5,000 orders. Industry watchers believe the expansion will reduce delivery timelines, enhance product availability, and boost regional e-commerce participation in the steel city and adjoining areas. Overall, Flipkart’s supply chain scale-up has created over 2.2 lakh seasonal jobs, with a strong focus on women, PwDs, and first-time workforce hiring. With nearly 400 new micro-fulfilmentcentres across 19 cities, the company aims to ensure seamless festive deliveries, reinforcing its leadership in India’s e-commerce sector.
