In a move to bolster India’s burgeoning e-commerce landscape, Flipkart has forged a strategic partnership with the National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC). The collaboration aims to empower the nation’s youth by accelerating skill development and unlocking employment opportunities in the e-commerce, retail, and warehousing sectors. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) exchanged between Flipkart and NSDC paves the way for a comprehensive approach to workforce empowerment. Through NSDC-accredited certified courses, Flipkart will provide training, skill enhancement, and placement opportunities under its Supply Chain Operations Academy (SCOA) and Project Bright Initiative.
One of the highlights of the partnership is Flipkart’s commitment to offering free online courses through its ‘Project Bright Initiative,’ focusing on imparting essential skills for a career in the fast-growing e-commerce domain. These courses will cover fundamentals of e-commerce, soft skills, and customer service, enhancing the employability of learners.
Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Flipkart Group, emphasized the company’s dedication to fostering inclusive economic growth by supporting local businesses and providing tailored skills for aspiring professionals. He stated, “Our collaboration with NSDC aims to unlock fresh prospects for young individuals and foster their career triumphs.” Moreover, Flipkart’s involvement in NSDC Kaushal Mahotsav (Job Fairs) will further bridge the gap between job seekers and employers, creating new avenues for aspirants across the country.Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, NSDC Director, highlighted the significance of the partnership in equipping candidates with industry-relevant skills.
